Frank Thomas Retires

Two time Amercan League MVP Frank Thomas has decided to call it a career.

This doesn’t come as a huge surprise, since he didn’t play last season, but the Big Hurt is almost certain to be inducted to the Hall of Fame as soon as he becomes eligible.

Thomas had his best years with the White Sox where he won his two MVP awards, a batting title and set club records for home runs and RBIs.

Thomas is probably the best slugger of the ’90s who wasn’t juiced. Unlike some others who suddenly got big, Thomas always had his power.

He also spoke out repeatedly against PEDs making him one of baseball’s better role-models.

He wasn’t afraid to speak his mind when something bothered him expressing disappointment at how he was treated by the White Sox and at being taken out of the Blue Jays lineup. But that sort of honesty helped make him a hit with his fans.
