Closer Joe Nathan of the Minnesota Twins was diagnosed with a tear in the ulnar collateral ligament and could have season-ending surgery.
The Twins plan on resting him and building strength in the muscles around the tear to see if the pain subsides. If he’s not ready to go in two weeks, he will have season-ending surgery to repair the damage.
The loss of Nathan would severely damage the Twins World Series chances. The over/under on total wins is currently set at 82.5 and their odds to win the American League Pennant are +775.
