New York Yankees at Texas Rangers Baseball Betting Preview

On Tuesday night, August 10, 2010, the Texas Rangers will square off against the New York Yankees in the first of a two game series. This will be the first of a difficult set of games against opponents in the powerful AL East.

The Rangers are listed as baseball odds favorites at -150 to the Yankees +130.

The Texas Rangers are just coming off of a loss to Oakland to finish up their trip on the road. They currently have a record of 64-47 and they are still standing at a .621 winning percentage in their current division.

They are also sitting pretty with the lead in their division but are a bit nervous to have their next twelve games be against their AL East foes. The Yankees have a record of 69-42 and are also looking to make the playoffs.

The last time these two teams met, the Rangers were outscored a total of 17-6 and lost to the New York Yankees three straight times in April. In their home ballpark they have only won 3 of the last 17 meetings against the Yankees. If they can get their batting average leader Josh Hamilton to step up they might have a better of chance of pulling a win or two. He is currently only 1 for 11 against the Yankees.

The Rangers will also need Burnett and scheduled starter C.J. Wilson to step up after having some shaky starts recently. This is especially true since they will be facing Rodriguez who is 3 for 6 with a single home run against the Texas Rangers this year. He is currently batting a .390 and has 8 RBI’s in his last twelve games against them.
